How My Girlfriend's Gift Started iHeartNerds

iHeartNerds started with a t-shirt my girlfriend bought me. It said “I ❤️ NERDS” and I LOVED it. It was the perfect gift—unique, fun, and totally her vibe (she’s a nerd). People complimented it all the time. But… I’m extremely picky about how my shirts fit, and this one was just a cheap Etsy tee. (This is not a diss at my girlfriend. I love her very, very much. It was an amazing gift and literally inspired this entire brand.)

Even though the quality wasn’t there, I wore it constantly because I loved the idea behind it and thought it was dope. So I thought:Why don’t I just remake it? Create a better version of the shirt I already loved—one that fits me exactly how I want, with real quality behind it. I started searching for pieces that checked all my boxes:

  • quality fabric

  • a clean, baggy fit

  • a dope design

I designed one. Ordered a single sample just for myself. Tried it on. And instantly thought: I could totally sell this.

I’m tired of seeing brands on social media with amazing concepts and cool designs but zero care for quality. Shirts that shrink, feel cheap, or don’t fit right—made only to maximize profit margins. I wanted to build something different. Something I would actually wear, even if that means lower margins and a higher price. Clothes I genuinely think are sick. This whole brand is inspired by my girlfriend, who is very much so a nerd (a hot one). And this is just the beginning.
